Rough Sketch

Three weeks since the last post and I have yet to put any paint on the canvas. I have used my sketch on paper as a guide to sketching the same design on the canvas. Yesterday, I scanned that rough sketch into the computer and used Photoshop to to color in the design. I am going out of town for a day or two, so maybe I'll find some motivation to use the paint brushes after I return.

About the design: I wanted to try something a little different this time. I usually make my designs symmetrical - whether it is divided horizontally or vertically through the center, and sometimes even diagonally. For this design, I chose to only do it symetrical on the vertical axis. Also, I am not taking the design all the way to the edge on this painting. I like this design, but I know I won't like it as well as the last few symmetrical paintings I have completed. Hopefully that won't interfere with my motivation to finish this painting.
